Working with Dixon Contracting was a wonderful experience for us. We can’t say enough about how pleased we are with our home and how relatively stress free the entire process was. Joe Dixon is a man of his word and the time and concern he took with us was really amazing. The attention to detail was above and beyond what I think most builders would do for their clients. Joe took his time listening to our needs and requests and added ideas to what we envisioned and his ideas very much enhanced what we were doing. He was calm and thoughtful on all matters from our perspective and didn’t try to rush decision making. If we had questions, Joe got back to us quickly as we moved through the build and we could get what we needed to do done because Joe didn’t hold us up on our end.

As important in the process, is Joe’s wife Christy who handled all of the interior choices. It was her attention to detail and her ability to work with us (even when we would change things up!) that we found so helpful. She is incredibly patient!
The interior detail is so encompassing yet she walked us through all the details from flooring, to plumbing, to cabinetry to paints and stains and beyond and somehow kept it all straight. Anytime we would call or meet, she had all the details plugged into a computer program and knew exactly what we had discussed prior and as the house was put together there really weren’t any missteps. If there were, they were dealt with quickly and we never had to worry that something wouldn’t be done that needed attention. We even showed her pictures of cabinet mirrors and other items that we wanted and she relayed all of that to the Amish/Mennonite cabinet makers and they replicated what we wanted beautifully.
 

The other thing we have to comment on was the crew that built the house. Not only were they very competent at their jobs but they had a level of respect for Joe and seemed to really like working with him. If mistakes were made, they
said Joe would just say “fix it” and they appreciated the way he worked with them...it seemed to us that Joe knew how to run a crew without any drama. The house is very well done and we get lots of compliments on it. We are so
pleased with the quality of construction and craftsmanship. Finally, and maybe most importantly, Joe and Christy both have been available after the build and have returned to address any small issues that we may have had. They stand behind their work and we feel so fortunate to have chosen them for our build. We recommend them to anyone we know looking for a quality builder in the area. We have complete confidence in their workmanship and abilities to build any type of house you may want. We truly don’t feel you could go wrong with Dixon Contracting. In our books, they were the best!
